Meet Stephanie
At the heart of Peace By Piece is Stephanie, whose creativity, eye for detail, and care for people shape the entire store experience. Customers often come in looking for a gift, a decor piece, or a custom item, but they leave with something more personal: guidance, inspiration, and the feeling that someone took time to help them find just the right thing.
Stephanie has a gift for bringing pieces together, whether that means helping a customer style a mantel, choose a memorial gift, personalize a keepsake, or create a meaningful experience with friends and family.
Our Story
Peace By Piece officially began in 2023, building upon more than a decade of creativity, customer relationships, and custom work.
The shop is located in a historic brick building surrounded by the Hooper family’s farmland in scenic Sanilac County. Originally a one-room schoolhouse and later a church, the building holds fond memories for generations of local families. When it became available, Stephanie could not imagine a more meaningful place to bring her dream to life.
Today, the building continues its story as a welcoming destination shaped by family, community, creativity, and a whole lot of faith.
Peace By Piece brings together boutique gifts, seasonal décor, home accents, personalized items, memorial gifts, baby and toddler gifts, gourmet treats, creative workshops, and unexpected finds. But the experience has never been only about the products. It is about the conversations, personal connections, and care that go into helping each customer find or create something meaningful.
Rooted in Community
Stephanie’s care for others extends well beyond the shop. As the daughter of a Vietnam veteran, she looks for opportunities to honor and support veterans. She is also actively involved with the Deckerville Community Development Commission, helping strengthen local businesses and community events.
Peace By Piece is proud to support local causes, including the area’s domestic violence shelter, food pantries, and programs serving children in need.
For Stephanie, being part of the community means contributing to it, encouraging others, and helping create a place where people and businesses can thrive.
